Veteran Equine Therapy
Horse Thunders goal is to begin to treat our wounded warriors with PTSD in early summer of 2020. The concept is not to have our veterans to just ride horses, but to use them as therapy companions. The organization will have on staff certified individuals through the Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship (PATH) International utilizing training in Equine-Assisted Activities and Therapies (EAAT) which provides standards for safe and ethical equine interaction through education, communication, standards and research. Leaders of the organization will also be trained by the Equine Assisted Growth and Learning Association with special interest in the Military services designation.
