Camping with Your Horse #2
Camping with Your Horse
Camping with your horses is great fun. All different ways to camp, but it’s fun just getting ready. Good for you and your horses. You spend quality time with your horse and it’s great exposure to learn things you wouldn’t around the barn. Great training time!
Things that your horses can learn from you camping with your horse.

Hobbling

Standing on a picket line.

Speaking of a picket line… use a old thick hemp rope. Using this kind of rope because it coils nicely to fit into your panniers and camp supplies. Find a good space in your campsite to stretch your rope quiet a distance and at least… whether’s high or a little higher because those horses are going to pull your rope down. Always pack a little hay twine with you. Tie your break-away string onto your picket line. (Watch video). Use a old worn out cinch to tie your hemp rope to a tree. This keeps from hurting, scaring, or killing the trees.
-
Tying your horse with a quick release knot is the best way to tie your horse anywhere you need too.
-
Camping with your horse is always fun when your extra careful to take precautions to make it safe for you and your animals.
